▌Digital Preservation for Qiaopi of Overseas Chinese
海外游子的“乡愁印记”迎来“云保护”
▌Qiaopi, also known as“Yinxin,”refers to a combination of the letters and remittance receipts sent by overseas Chinese back to their hometowns through private channels or the postal system.
侨批,又称“银信”,是海外华侨通过民间渠道或邮政系统寄回家乡的书信与汇款凭证的总称。
▌As the local procuratorial organ in one of the hometowns of overseas Chinese, the People’s Procuratorate of Meixian District in Meizhou City has made the protection of Qiaopi a focal point of its work in implementing Xi Jinping’s Thought on the Rule of Law and Culture. In February this year, after conducting field studies, the procuratorate discovered that a local private museum housing Qiaopi archives faced issues such as inadequate fire safety facilities both inside and outside the exhibition areas. In March, the procuratorate respectively issued a procuratorial recommendation to the Meixian District Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports, as well as a consultation letter to the government of Longwen Town. The documents called for rectification measures including digital collection, standardized preservation conditions and the elimination of all safety hazards for Qiaopi. On May 15th, a follow-up investigation confirmed that the museum fully met safety standards, ensuring the permanent and professional preservation of Qiaopi.
