▌Jointly Implementing the Two Laws to Protect Minors for a Better Future

　　携手落实“两法” 共护祖国未来 

　　▌The future of a country and the hopes of a nation lie in the hands of its young generation. On May 26, the People’s Procuratorate of Guangdong Province, together with the People’s Procuratorate of Guangzhou City and the People’s Procuratorate of Haizhu District, Guangzhou City held an open day with the theme of “Jointly Implementing the Two Laws to Protect Minors for a Better Future”. The representatives of teachers and students, media reporters, as well as deputies to People’s Congresses at the national, provincial and prefectural levels, and members of the committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference were presented. The open day helped increase their understanding of the new progress and achievements made by the procuratorates and the procuratorial work concerning the protection of minors.

　　青少年是祖国的未来，民族的希望。5月26日，广东省检察院联合广州市检察院、海珠区检察院举办了一场主题为“携手落实‘两法’共护祖国未来”的检察开放日活动，邀请在校师生代表、媒体记者，以及部分全国、省、市人大代表、政协委员走进检察机关，近距离了解检察工作和广东未成年人检察工作的新进展新成效。 

　　▌On June 1, 2021, the Law on Protection of Minors and the Law on the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency officially came into force, which authorized procuratorial authorities to take on more new responsibilities and tasks. Under the new circumstances, Guangdong’s procuratorial authorities always adhere to the principle of the best interests of minors and the principle that provides two-way protection to guarantee the rights and interests of juvenile suspects as well as victims. We actively promote a comprehensive juvenile protection from six forces including families, schools, the society, grid-based communities, governments and judiciaries, strive to address both symptoms and root causes, and focus on solving the major concerns, difficulties and pain points concerning the protection of minors.

　　2021年6月1日，《中华人民共和国未成年人保护法》和《中华人民共和国预防未成年人犯罪法》正式施行，赋予检察机关更多新的职责和任务。新形势下，广东未检工作始终坚持最有利于未成年人原则和双向保护原则，积极推动未成年人“六大保护” 全面落实，力求促进标本兼治，着力解决未成年人保护热点、难点和痛点问题。 

　　▌Guangdong’s procuratorial authorities have all along continued to upgrade the judicial philosophy related to the work of minors, and constantly strengthened the oversight of the law, striving to set up a big pattern for the protection of minors with joint efforts. In 2021, procuratorial authorities in our province intensified efforts to combat the infringement on minors, continuously created new working mechanisms to yield solid results in the assistance and education that procuratorates delivered to delinquents, and took well-ordered steps to centrally handle the procuratorial work related to minors. In addition, we steadily advanced the special action related to the oversight of the law concerning minor protection, and routinely carried out supervision on the implementation of the No.1 suggestion from the Supreme People’s Procuratorate concerning the protection of minors. We delivered lectures on the rule of law in more than 3,500 kindergartens, primary and middle schools, covering over 5.3 million teachers, students and parents.

　　一直以来，广东未检工作持续更新司法理念，不断强化法律监督，努力构建齐抓共管的未成年人保护大格局。2021年，全省检察机关强力打击侵害未成年人犯罪；持续创新工作机制，不断提升罪错未成年人帮教实效；有序推进未成年人检察集中统一办理工作；稳步推进未成年人保护法律监督专项行动；常态化抓好“一号检察建议”监督落实。2021年到3500余所幼儿园、学校开展“法治进校园”巡讲，覆盖师生家长530多万人。 

　　▌This year marks the first anniversary of the implementation of the newly amended two laws. Guangdong’s procuratorial authorities will take this opportunity, continue to fully implement Xi Jinping’s thinking on the rule of law, and promote the high-quality development of our procuratorial work concerning minors in a professional, standardized and socialist way, so as to better protect minors, who stand for the future of our nation.

　　今年适逢新修订的未成年人保护法和预防未成年人犯罪法施行一周年，广东检察机关将以此为契机，继续深入学习贯彻习近平法治思想，以专业化、规范化、社会化建设促推未检工作高质量发展，用心守护祖国未来。
